Highlight of the trip

Here we are in Colorado Springs, the Rocky Mountains are majestic and can been seen from everywhere. We spotted some curly horn sheep in the Garden of the Gods. Of course we were very excited and not to burst our bubble but have come to find out they are as common as rabbits in San Diego.

Our next stop and the highlight of the trip so far was the Focus on the Family headquarters. It is a huge campus on a rolling green hillside. All of those radio shows, books, bible studies, family values and influence on America come to life here. We stayed for hours (while our motorhome was in the shop getting our generator fixed) they have quite a large bookstore and visitor center. We picnicked on their lawns (don't know if that was allowed but no one chased us off).

Our niece Jennifer and husband John live in Littleton so we spent last night visiting and had dinner at their country club. Well there home is nothing short of a palace. I think over 7,000 sq ft of luxury, 5 bdrms, 7 baths......an indoor golf room, 2 guest powder rooms, potters room, outdoor pizza oven...on and on. More than that very nice welcoming folks, we had a great visit and were entertained by 8 year old Joel and all his animals. He loves toads, turtles and grasshoppers.
There house is behind John on the 18th green.! That shortcut back to the motor home was easy and great. We had a great visit! We are planning a visit to the Coors Brewery a Colorado Rockies game and some sailing today. Thanks to all who visit our blog, God Bless You and keep you until we see you again.
